Rosemary is for...
remembrance, but I am extending it, this Thanksgiving morning, 2010, to include gratitude. I don't think a long list of names is as important as your knowing that if you look at this page, you are included in my memory, as love and friendship. Actually, even if you don't look at it.
For when have I ever needed an antecedent for my wanderings, even the ridiculous ones? Do you ever talk to yourself or your cat? OK, see? If you do, then we are connected...
Now, not exactly "settled," a word used by many, I am dedcidely HERE and not THERE and have pushed and pulled (with that real and spiritual help from others) and, finally, made it mine.
Once again, The Gray Imperative reigns as she drops her reservations about being plunked out of her comfort zone by a lesser hand. Just a few minutes ago, I found her at the bottom of what were previously the scary stairs engaging a cricket. Ordinarily, I would jump in to negotiate in favor of the cricket; this time, I let it go. That is not my charge...
Now, her food is the same, and she is content to explore all spaces and return to home...which is me. Ditto, Camilla...
I bought most of these coffee cups in nearby Catonsville (Atwater's), a wonderful bakery with fantastic Fair Trade coffees. So thanks to another friend, who introduced me to the shop.
SO...taking a momentary vow of silence--partial silence--are several views of this beautiful place to which I return...now, in the same skin, but with new perspectives and a perhaps a more (right word?) accepting self.
As a close friend asked me recently, "The question is: How perfect do you want to BE?" I must admit it rocked my little world, so now I only spend a couple hours re-arranging things in this space rather than half a day!
This is the sunset view out a small window...and I rush here every evening to look at the magnificent colors! They remind me of a similar view of branches and color somewhere else that is very special to me.
Ending with joy and hope for this
Thanksgiving, 2010.
You know who you are...family and friends...
and you are here with me right
now in my heart!

Lovely pics, especially the mirror and the sunset.
Wow, it looks perfect to me.
Well, not too perfect. I have now
corrected three TYPOs found AFTER I posted it, something I used to chide others for doing.
Beautiful sunset. So is The Great Imperative--great description! Loved it all.
Lovely, lovely, lovely Kay. Thank you for sending. I am about to start my holiday preparations, very non-traditional--cabbage rolls! But, we do not care for turkey and Thanksgiving can come in any way we want! Have a wonderful day in that lovely town and home.
Peace, Lorraine
Wonderful, Kay. Happy Thanksgiving! Rosemary must be very resilient; I grow it outside and it survives our frozen winters and several feet of snow.
Happy Thanksgiving. I'm glad Camilla is exploring. She is getting comfortable, which is important to all of us. Your place is beautiful and the sunset is amazing. A deer was blocking your driveway the other night. We just sat and stared at each other. Hope he was comfortable. It was amazing to me.
I realized today when buying a couple Christmas things at Michaels and down on Main Street that I am NESTING. That is different than settling. Because I can fly away, say to Spain or Rehoboth!
