Cloudbursts: Five Haiku for Summer

i

Lying down on grass,
first asleep, then looking up--
Cloud grasshoppers leap!

ii

Afternoon silence,
what we are saying--
the clouds move on too.

iii

Lessening of light
when a cloud obscures the sun--
I am alone now.

iv

Sinking into sea,
the sun takes the clouds with it--
I am not alone.

v

Neither time nor pace,
I drink in the starry sky--
and let go the race.
